‚there is a new asian restaurant‘ is one of the most heard phrases within the last months concerning restaurants in vienna. sushi, ramen, pho, dim sum, vietnamese spring rolls… it seems as the asian restaurants doubled in Vienna within the last few months…
One of these new restaurants – and really worth visiting – in the city center of vienna is IKO
Just around the corner of Tuchlauben – located directly in Wipplingerstraße.
The interior is super simple and maybe more like a lunch place: small, half of the seating is half standing/sitting.
The food: this is really good – and you can trust me, as I’m super picky with asian food 😉
But let’s start first things first: we had edamame, grilled scallops and seafood pancake. First two ones were really nice – the pancake was too much dough for my taste.
Beides ausgezeichnet! Dazu gab es Ingwer-Spritzer. #lovedit
To make the decision for the main course was quite hard: you have the choice between salads, warm dishes and sushi. At the end, we went for the sushi… of course… again…
The service was okay but not outstanding, as we couldn’t get a recommendation for our mains as they didn’t even know all of the ingredients herself.
So we made our decision ourselves: spicy tuna roll and green roll. Both really good – accompanied by a ginger-Spritz (white wine mixed with soda and ginger and mint). #lovedit
Fazit: Sehr gutes Essen in einfacher Atmosphäre.
really nice food. simple interior.
